仮面劇おもて

70代～80代の女性たちへのインタビューを基に、まもなく平成が終わり昭和がさらに遠くなっていく「現在地」から、もの言わぬ仮面を通して昭和と平成を生きて来た彼女たちのこれまでとこれからを流行歌に乗せて語る無言劇。

Based on interviews with women in their 70s and 80s, this is a piece of mask theater that portrays the lives of women alongside the popular music that they loved. From the perspective of the current moment where one era is coming to an end and another recedes further into the distant past, this piece of silent mask theater is a journey through the lives of women.

現代仮面劇の上演を目的として2014年から活動開始。身体と即興性を重視し、舞台と客席の狭間に現れる物語や、現実につながる断片をつなぎ合わせた作品作りを行っている。

Formed in 2014 with the goal of performing modern mask theater. Emphasizing the body and improvisation, Mask Theatre OMOTE creates works where a narrative emerges in the space between the stage and the audience, or works that piece together fragments linking back to reality. Recent performances include: Carbon Copy (November 2017, Wakabacho Wharf) and Romeo and Juliet at Kyojima Nagaya (March 2018, Sumida Ward Kyojima Nagaya).
